Nanaimo Barz is a group featuring Deepcave mainstays Royal-T and Lev combining with their favorite MC’s in their temporary home of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. The group consists of Curtis C (Character Traits), ACO (Smear Camp), Evo Freez (the Hate Club), Cozmic (Apollo Twinz), Defstar (Apollo Twinz), Royal-T (Deepcave) and Lev (Deepcave) with production handled by ACO and Lev. The album is 12 posses cuts deep featuring skilled rapping with a variety of different styles coming together to create a unique grimy sound over some of the best beats featured on a Deepcave release to date. Also making appearances on the album are other Nanaimo MC’s such as Kava 1, Reveal and JB1. The album is available now on Deepcave Records digital for free download!

Upcoming Deepcave Records release- Royal-T and Lev- Countdown to Liquor Day: Dropping in March, 2012

Royal-T and Lev are brothers that came up in the same crews sharing stages together since 2000 as a part of Deepcave, NWO and more… as well as releasing solo material along the way. A collaborative effort between the two brothers has long been contemplated and urged by their peers and fans alike. The chemistry on their forthcoming LP is as undeniable as the raw skill each MC possesses, mix that with production from the likes of Lev himself, DJ Kutdown, the Dirty Sample and P-Nut and you’ve got a release that will more than justify the wait for this collabo.

FREE DOWNLOAD of the NWO’s 2008 LP

From 2006-2008,  members of Winnipeg rap crews Deepcave and the Dead Indians joined forces to bang out the NWO album. The group consists of Big Bear, P-Nut, Royal-T, Lev, Kenny G, Kenny Wu, Kenny Bang’em, and 40oz. The crew did numerous shows and became a staple in the Winnipeg rap scene.

This album has been long awaited since it’s completion in 2008. The NWO album was supposed to be out 3 years ago but due to complications it was pushed back to the point where we weren’t sure if we were going to release it anymore. One quick listen through all the tracks squashed that idea and made us realize that this was a tight project that needed to get out there. We released it early 2010 on Itunes but after close to 2 years the sales are slowing down so we figured we’d offer it free and expose more people to one of, if not THE dopest Deepcave Records release to date.

The album combines grimey rap, executed with skilled flows and rhyme patterns over hard as fuck beats. The bulk of the production is handled by the NWO’s own P-Nut, although the album also has a couple of gems compliments of DJ Kutdown and Tron. Featured MC’s include Yy (Peanuts and Corn records), Jon C (Winnipeg’s Most) and Webster Death (Deepcave Records).
